JPC now at UNICEF Namibia

Working in the area of Education and HIV prevention, with a focus on adolescent development and participation, Melissa has experienced a sharp learning curve in her first two months with UNICEF Namibia.  One of the critical programming elements and the primary focus of her internship has been the support of the Sport 4 Development program, Galz & Goals. 

The Galz & Goals program has given Melissa the opportunity to see first hand, the impact of sport on young girls in Namibia.  The program, through active participation integrates knowledge and skills on HIV prevention and healthy lifestyle choices, helping players to gain self-confidence and support their transition to adulthood. 

The pictures below highlight a site visit to the Galz & Goals program in Eenhana, found in the Ohangwena region, in the north of the country.
