A UNPP alumni, Nihit, has recently returned from a very successful placement with one of UNA-Canada’s longest standing UN partners, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Candidates at this posting gain meaningful experience as RSD Eligibility Officers, where they have the opportunity to manage their own regional case files of asylum seekers to India. The JPC reflects that, “The UNHCR internship is a well rounded position for anyone looking to expand their professional skills along with their knowledge of issues that may vary anywhere from law, political science, international relations, social work, social science, etc. The staff and the supervisors at the agency were extremely helpful and welcoming of the JPCs and provide adequate feedback to develop our skills to the next level.”
