IOM,
Nepal has been busy due to a massive landslide in the east of the country. Just
this week, the Government of Nepal activated the clusters to respond to the
crisis. As part of the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) cluster
lead, IOM-broadly speaking- is assisting to establish a temporary camp for the
survivors of the landslide.
UNA-Canada JPC, Franz
Meier, is assisting IOM in Disarmament, Demobilization and
Reintegration (DRR) activities, as well as several other projects
including land right issues, conflict victims’ assistance, and a project that
addresses squatters/ the landless in Nepal.
“The
team here at IOM is fantastic and is keeping me very busy and engaged. It is a
pleasure to work in this capacity.”-Franz
