IOM Specialist Franz Meier On The Ground



Franz Meier is a JPC hailing from British Columbia (via Germany) and Royal Roads University. He is currently seconded to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nepal in a Disaster Risk Reduction Capacity. Viel GlĂ¼ck Franz!

Franz holds a Master of Arts in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University.


UPDATE 15/08/2014:


IOM, Nepal has been busy due to a massive landslide in the east of the country. Just this week, the Government of Nepal activated the clusters to respond to the crisis. As part of the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) cluster lead, IOM-broadly speaking- is assisting to establish a temporary camp for the survivors of the landslide.



UNA-Canada JPC, Franz Meier, is assisting IOM in Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DRR) activities, as well as several other projects including land right issues, conflict victims’ assistance, and a project that addresses squatters/ the landless in Nepal.
