The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in Bangkok, Thailand is currently hosting their fourth JPC, Jessica Wong. UNCDF is the UN’s capital investment agency for the world’s least developed countries. Jessica has been working on UNCDF’s recently launched financial inclusion programme called, Shaping Inclusive Finance Transformations (SHIFT). This global programme is designed to improve the current level of financial inclusion in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. SHIFT aims to facilitate the transition of low-income people’s use of financial services from informal mechanisms to formal, regulated and higher value services.

Jessica is responsible for providing backstopping to key activities of the regional team involved in Inclusive Finance project planning and implementation. The Inclusive Finance team is currently supporting this year’s ASEAN Chair, Myanmar, in the organization of the ASEAN Financial Inclusion Conference. Jessica conducts technical research and prepares case study reports on financial inclusion related topics. She also maintains effective communication with professional networks and UN partner organizations. Jessica is from Vancouver, Canada. She holds a Bachelor Degree from the University of British Colombia and Master of Science in Global Studies Degree from Lund University in Sweden.
